I deposited 400NOK (40EUROS) with Casoola (Genesis Group) and got a 150% deposit bonus and 20 freespins on Starburst - totalling 1000NOK.

I played through the wagering, had about 8000 NOK on my account and hit it big on Gonzo quest, winning a total of 320000 on one drop. I now had 40000NOK that I won.

In their terms however they stated that

"The maximum withdrawal amount from the bonus money after the turnover requirement has been met is NOK 20,000"

So I lost half my winnings. I was not aware through the SMS or when depositing that there was a max withdrawal limit after I had played through the wagering, but of course they had a link to their terms and conditions.

Three questions

  1. Should casinos have to include such a maximum in their marketing - as they do with the wagering requirements?
  2. Isnt this rule quite stupid? I could have withdrawn my 8000 and deposited them back in and this way I would get to keep all my winnings? Or if I had deposited on top of my wagerede money they would not have been able to tell the money apart - if you get my point?
  3. Isn`t this a unfair rule? Shouldnt wagered money be wagered money be wagerede money?

  1. It would be nice if they included there, but it's often enough when such a condition is one click away from the email or if the email says "general and bonus terms and conditions apply"
  2. Yes, it sounds stupid, but I can tell you it works exactly this way in most of casinos so let's say you get a bonus, the max. withdrawal is 100USD. When you win 100, request a withdrawal and deposit 100 immediately, you get rid off the max. withdrawal rules and you can play however you want. The problem is that people often win 100USD and request the withdrawal, then they need to wait for a couple of days until the casinos requests documents from them that I necessary for the account verification, then the withdrawal is still pending and the player thinks: "OK, I want to play so I'll rather cancel the withdrawal and keep playing." Then if the player gets additional winnings, they'll be voided, because the bonus rule is still applied.
  3. It is and it isn't in some cases. I'll try to show it on another example. Let's say the max. win is 100. You play with the bonus and you win 2000 in a single spin. You don't withdraw the 100 and let the casino void the rest of your winnings, but you keep playing instead. This way, you can afford to increase your bets, since you have a much bigger money pool. You can risk more than you would normally did with your own money. Such a behaviour can lead to pretty quick losses, but it can also lead to unusually big winnings. The casino will void all your winnings and will leave you with the 100, but I wouldn't blame them for it since you got an unfair advantage by playing with a money pool that you normally wouldn't have. The money pool was created by a bonus that normally allows you to use only 100.

On the other hand, when you play with a bonus, the max. withdrawal is 100, but you complete the wagering requirement and have 80 bucks on your account when you complete it, then it shouldn't be required to withdraw the 80 bucks, but it makes sense when you just keep playing with the real money that you have on your account. In that case, you didn't have any unfair advantage, no money pool etc.

I think you should just delete this thread as I have received my first payment of 2110 EUROS and have written confirmation of the second one coming tomorrow.

Did this mean that the policy was not enforced or did I misunderstand my first time?

Hello,

it's good you've received your winnings. 👍

We'll not delete this thread simply because it could help other players with the same questions and doubts.

Furthermore, anybody can see that you got paid, so there is no wrong outcome, I'd say.

I must personally say that I'm quite surprised you will probably get the whole amount.

Congratulations!

It did end very well indeed - I have received all of my 40000+ NOK after a verification process that was quite quick. I just did not want the thread make Casooola or Genesis Group look bad as I have absolutely no reason to be unhappy about them. The only thing is they charge 2% on all withdrawals, but if you have a look at the RTP on my favourites they still come out on top. (95+% on Gonzos Quest - 2% is still quite good).

I have written to them about the rule just to be sure that I can keep playing there without having to worry about the 20000 NOK cap. I` will keep you posted.

I'm just wondering, do they apply the 2% charge on all types of withdrawals? What kind of method have you used to make the withdrawal?

I'd say it would we kind of OK if they applied some fixed fee on the withdrawals - let's say 1EUR (10NOK) per withdrawal, but if it's 2% of any amount, then it directly influences your RTP as you already mentioned and I think it's totally wrong to be honest.

They charge 2% on all three alternative withdrawal-methods: MuchBetter, MiFinity and eZeeWallet and that is a bigger problem for me than the 2%. None of the operators actually let you make withdrawals in cash to Norwegian bank accounts, and the MuchBetter virtual debit Mastercard does not work at a lot of places online - forget about buying anything with for example PayPal or try to reload your Revolut account with it.

I have ordered a MuchBetter "plastic" credit card that is supposed to work in Norway, but there is a 4% charge on any transaction in NOK so that is a bigger problem than any charge on withdrawals.

(It does however work at Nike.com, so I`m not in need of any more sneakers for a few years)

Hello,

I found it hard to believe that such high fees exist. I'm wondering now, do you think that switching to cryptocurrency would help?

Furthermore, you can't buy food but you certainly can buy a nice pair of shoes... That's really funny. file

I do play at some casinos with crypto but for me to get to NOK in my bank account I have to exchange via the one Norwegian online exchange for this ( www.firi.com ) and if you also add in that you always get "shortchanged" by the casino on the amount of BTC that you are supposed to get ( by a few % ) this is a much worse alternative than getting my "SneakerAccount" at MuchBetter replenished.

There is also an option at MuchBetter to withdraw in crypto but a 2% fee AND you get "shortchanged" in the process, so that option is truly terrible.

Yeah, the solution would be to have a casino account in NOK and being able to withdraw from the casino in NOK directly do your NOK account, but I guess that's not possible?

How about creating EUR account in a Norwegian bank, have a card attached to it, use the card for depositing in casinos in EUR and withdrawing back to the EUR bank account?

The problem with Norwegian gambling policy is that banks are prohibited from taking payments from gambling. They will turn down any payment attempted if they think there is even a remote chance that gambling is involved.

There are several good workarounds however - so I do not suffer any pain from this "ban" whatsoever. The smoothest workarounds seem to be the ones that establish a crypto-account in your name so that it seems to the bank like you are paying yourself. I shall not name the casino (and my name is not really Erik Olsen) but I was surprised to see that Erik Olsen had made a deposit to my Norwegian bankaccount when I was expecting a payout from XX Casino. You also in effect buy crypto when playing at this and other casinos - so you can use Norwegian debit cards - but the crypto is not visible to the player. NOK in NOK out!

I also have bankaccounts in EURO in European banks that I can use to pay with in any store in Norway with only the normal VISA NOK/EURO exchangefee beeing deducted ( lower than 1% )

I usually don`t play at casinos that force me to beeing paid via all these "wallets" - like MuchBetter, MyFinity etc - beacuse of the fees. Skrill is "outlawed" but worked ok before.

My guess is that after a while all loopholes and wallets will be closed by the authoritets and only crypto will be left. No stress as long as this is seamlessly made like at XX Casino.

The problem with Norwegian gambling policy is that banks are prohibited from taking payments from gambling.

Here we go! So that's the issue...In that case, it's always doable but more expensive to do that through the already mentioned workarounds. You'll never avoid the deductions/fees this way 😕

Hello,

I know this is a bit old thread...

But I'd like to know if there is any actual Casino that takes deposits (and work) from Norwegian banks, via Visa card.

Unibet doesn't work anymore. I was lucky cos there was something that changed for a bit some days and I made a couple of deposits in the last month's.

Betsafe, was work g for a bit in the last 2 or 3 months, but now it doesn't anymore.

I have found Casino21 that worked good last month... but since last week, again the deposit get blocked by the bank.

I dont know If you have noticed something about this...

I see that the problem comes from the reseller that makes the process of the payment. The payment check out, if it goes through a company that the bank has marked as related to a casino, it gets blocked. When they suddenly or randomly change this, the deposit works.

I have tried all astropay wallets etc and it useless.

Any recommendation to make deposits work?

Thanks.

Hello,

I read one of the previous posts where I found quite useful info.

Have you considered crypto payments?

I will also ask our tester team to find some tips for you if possible, just be prepared that the response is not to be immediate, as it usually takes some time.

Hi, thanks for that.

YES I have READ IT. It would have been good to know the name of the casino He mentioned to try it.

I dont have crypto accounts. And I'm not really sure if my bank allow me to trade with them. I should try to open one and see.

I know many casinos take the deposit doing the conversion to crypto, so I guess I should be able to do that.

I have some screenshots with examples of when the deposit go through and when doesn't. I could share in private if you need them.

I've tried to explain to a few casinos support what's the problem i see but they don't wanna hear or is nothing they can do about it and just keep saying to talk to the bank, which makes no sense because of the Norwegian rules.

Looking forward to hear what you find out with your testers. We r kind of doing their (casinos) job to be able to deposit, right? Lol.

Thanks again.

Hi 🙂,

you're correct, it would be great to know the casino, just but the information is 5 months old, so I really hope we will be able to get some advice, though the restrictions are quite precisely set if I'm not mistaken.

I can imagine that the situation is quite complex for the casinos as well, so maybe they just do not know what to do. 😀.

That is another good point from you nevertheless, I think that casinos should at least try to show some interest!
