A little warning here for the CG Community: Casino Guru is an open platform where everyone is free to share their thoughts and opinions. We believe in free speech and try to be as non-restrictive as possible. That said, please remember: just because something is posted on the forum doesn’t mean Casino Guru agrees with it or endorses it in any way. We’re really happy to see players engaging in conversations, debating respectfully, and having fun doing so! That’s why we created this platform. However, we’ve noticed a growing trend – not just here, but across other platforms too – where some players, after losing money fairly in a casino, look for ways to get those funds back through their bank or payment provider, often by filing chargebacks or making false claims. We’d like to warn you: this behaviour is not only unfair – it’s also very risky! We’ve already seen and heard stories (here and elsewhere) of people who got into serious trouble trying to go down this route – including closed casino accounts across multiple platforms, closed bank accounts, debts, and even lawsuits (attempted fraud). Attempting fraud or misrepresenting the truth to a bank or provider is never a good idea and could have lasting consequences. So here’s our friendly appeal to all Casino Guru community members: Stand up against unfair and dishonest casinos. Use our Complaints Resolution Center if you need help – you don’t have to fight alone. But please don’t try to get back money you’ve fairly lost. It’s simply not worth the risk. Thanks for being part of our community – and have a great day!

Has anyone been contacted from casino after sending refund request to payment provider? They want to know the reason for refund, but if I tell them, then they have proof it’s casino deposit?

I went along with it, you have to remember that they aren’t going to go to your bank or tell people it was for payments to offshore casinos since their operations are illegal anyway! So I wouldn’t worry about that aspect of it

support.stripe.com/charge-lookup you can use this tool with stripe to see if they processed your payments

How do I know which transactions to check? Are they named something relevant to stripe or is it random names? Thank you

I think the Casino Payment didn’t go thru Stripe, the Wexley Page is a Shopify dummy page with Stripe, i would guess the the Merchant has other payment processors for the Gambling related transactions.

but it’s nearly impossible to find out, just the banks can.

You can check the payment provider of a Casino with dev tools:

Open the website.

Right-click anywhere on the page and choose "Inspect".

Go to the "Network" tab.

Refresh the page or start the payment process.

Look through the list of network records.

Search for links or requests that include the word "pay", "checkout", or "payment".

Click one of them and open the "Response" tab.

If you see a JSON response, look for words like "processor", "gateway", or "provider" "pay".

These often show which payment processor (for example, Stripe, PayPal, etc.) is being used.

Stripe does not allow Gambling and someone could prove that this transactions were Gambling related they would be closed soon.

I would really love to know more I currently have 3 ongoing cases however, even though the legal argument is sound and cannot be disputed I have discovered the FOS is not bound by law, nor do they have to consider it. They only have to make a decision on what they personally consider to be fair and reasonable! So it really is the luck of the draw with who decides your case! One of my own was practically identical to another that was upheld and the investigator, in the upheld case was really in our corner! I cited said case and my own investigator literally said, "thankyou for bringing other cases to my attention. However I do not agree that the decisions made were fair and reasonable …."

The FCA whilst very diplomatic in what they say are trying to get the government to look at how the FOS decides as they are inundated with complaints of illegal payment processing and providers yet they are considered illegal by FOS.

I am rambling cos I am really disappointed that regardless of law and t&c’s these vultures can do what they like!!

anything you can share, although unsure how much our laws intertwine, would be amazing

A way we can all put these illegal Curacao gambling sites out of business......

The majority of traffic to these sites comes from Google(95%) and other search engines such as bing(3%). The traffic may vary in different countries but you can use chagpt to ascertain which are the biggest search engines in your country.

These illegal casinos are promoting their business on the paid(sponsored) snd organic listings. Anyone can report a listing to google or other search engines for promoting illegal gambling businesses in your country, and they do take action through their 'trust and safety' team.

What can we do?

When you do a search on google for 'gambling sites' or 'free spins no deposit' or something similar, you will see 'sponsored results' at the top, these are businesses who are paying google to promote their listing and drive more traffic to their site. There are three dots to the right hand side of these ads when you click on will open 'my ad centre', you can then click on the 'report' flag icon and write a message to Google's trust and safety team along the lines of 'this business are promoting illegal gambling businesses in the UK(or anywhere else). They do not have the required licence to operate legally in the UK as per

https://www.gamblingcommission.gov.uk/public-register/businesses

Google are either promoting illegal gambling directly or indirectly in this jurisdiction.

Affiliate sites who earn thousands from these sites should be reported to.

To follow up, once you report the business, Google will review through their trust and safety team within 5 days. They will remove paid ads and organic listings once they discover they are promoting illegal gambling businesses....

you can also visit

https://adstransparency.google.com/advertiser

and search for advertisers & affiliates for illegal gambling companies. Once you find a business or ad agency promoting illegal gambling, you can report multiple ads here and request for google to remove all similar adverts from these advertisers.

Enjoy.
