A little warning here for the CG Community: Casino Guru is an open platform where everyone is free to share their thoughts and opinions. We believe in free speech and try to be as non-restrictive as possible. That said, please remember: just because something is posted on the forum doesn’t mean Casino Guru agrees with it or endorses it in any way. We’re really happy to see players engaging in conversations, debating respectfully, and having fun doing so! That’s why we created this platform. However, we’ve noticed a growing trend – not just here, but across other platforms too – where some players, after losing money fairly in a casino, look for ways to get those funds back through their bank or payment provider, often by filing chargebacks or making false claims. We’d like to warn you: this behaviour is not only unfair – it’s also very risky! We’ve already seen and heard stories (here and elsewhere) of people who got into serious trouble trying to go down this route – including closed casino accounts across multiple platforms, closed bank accounts, debts, and even lawsuits (attempted fraud). Attempting fraud or misrepresenting the truth to a bank or provider is never a good idea and could have lasting consequences. So here’s our friendly appeal to all Casino Guru community members: Stand up against unfair and dishonest casinos. Use our Complaints Resolution Center if you need help – you don’t have to fight alone. But please don’t try to get back money you’ve fairly lost. It’s simply not worth the risk. Thanks for being part of our community – and have a great day!

I'd be interested to see what those who got refunded said, but they've signed NDA's so sadly i don't think that's possible unfortunately. I think they're very selective on who to offer refunds to and even then they'll try and worm their way out of it if possible

há 10 meses

It seems they pick and choose who they want to refund

há 10 meses

Depends who is involved I think. Only hope is for Mastercard/VISA to get directly involved.

I still don't understand why they accept payments by card and bank transfer though - they have a full crypto service setup!!

I'm pretty they're bots, when certain keywords are mentioned they fire out a C&P email and when they're unsure they alert whoever's running the scam to reply directly.

I know someone. All I know is they allowed the person to open about 20 accounts despite being self excluded. Denied a refund even with that, but then sent the MCC stuff and they eventually agreed. Think the threat was made to raise it on AskGamblers and Casinomeister and they caved.

The crypto I believe is setup for withdrawals so they can take a massive fee when u go to withdraw. Because they know people are more likely to withdraw VIA crypto as it’s generally instant-5hours vs withdraw to debit card being 2-4 days

Rake in more money, Mastercard have horrendous T&Cs that cover this type of thing, Visa have it somewhat covered, they have such a vast network of third party merchants too it wouldn't shock me if they're filtering the money after the transaction through the network and laundering it.

Katherine Jones is the one at Mystake - there is no chance this is a real person. Others will be the same. Very shadowy connections with this group I think.

ahh, that must have been a while back, i've seen a few complaints about Goldenbet in particular on both of those websites and they're usually left unresolved

with the MCC stuff now they say that's on the end of the third party merchants, not them, basically shifting blame

You can also deposit with crypto on them 100%. They would legitimise their business if they went full crypto(to an extent).

Think Mastercard are slowly realising the scale of the issue now. Noticed some slight changes to their T&Cs already which they rarely ever update. Lots of amendments since March have been made generally to their Terms.

I hope so, hopefully the authorities work in tandem to crack down on this properly, it's a larger issue than even we know, especially when you think about the third party merchant network and how they're using shell companies, dissolved companies and in rare instances moonlighting as active companies to move the money, i fear the illegal casino aspect is one small part of a very large scam network.

It wouldn't shock me if they're pulling other scams too, outside of gambling.

Good luck to you if you can actually find a way to hit them hard I applaud you they deserve everything that's coming to them if there's a way forward with it.

If they allow that then that is total identifiable fraud, that's money laundering mate! You deposit to a site with a Credit Card but can withdraw a balance in crypto? Wild stuff. Just another in a long line of things this group are fraudulent with.

Going to write to Parliament about this as well soon to see if we can get anymore traction. Pressure needs to be applied to Visa and Mastercard in particular.

há 10 meses

Wouldn't it be great if one day like the PCP scandal and the PPI scandal something similar came about where we all get compensation for this shit.

Parliament are already making changes to gambling legislation, i think if this was brought to light then it'd really change the landscape in terms of these shady offshore casinos.

They need to do a panorama documentary/ netflix documentary on it and then it'll come into public light. Not just illegal casinos, but also the way streamers are promoting this shit to kids. It's becoming a real epidemic

há 10 meses

oh my word, Starling are every bit as useless as Monzo.

Fob me off by saying they have no recourse to chargeback gambling transactions once they reach your account. Then 2 messages later they acknowledge the merchants did not identify themselves as gambling merchants. But still say they have no chargeback rights??!
