That’s very frustrating, 8k is obviously a lot of money, I don’t have that much in card payments but most of mine are SEPA running into the tens of thousands also but with Pixeleum just £800. They didn’t say they’re no longer a payment processor to me but that ‘arrangements with other parties are beyond our concern.’ I had a similar response from Elegro (another Santeda merchant for those unfamiliar) recently too.


I’m not an expert at stuff like this but I just wonder how the business relationship exists between these merchants and the unlicensed gambling companies. Are they run by the same people or just take a commission from the miscoding of these transactions alongside their legitimate business interests? It does seem to be illegal what they’re doing but then when you raise with FCA and other regulatory bodies no one seems to care. Elegro’s own website says merchants using their platform for illegal gambling is against their own Terms and they don’t serve UK individuals but when you bring this to their attention they don’t seem in the slightest bit concerned!

I find it incredible the way these payments are taken and for it to be allowed to happen over and over even when its been highlighted to the banks I mean the bank blocks about 6 methods then it finally takes the payment it should be reversed right away how hard would it be for the bank to do this💁they certainly can be strict on anything else like trying to log in etc

Now you mention it I do recall the card payments not going through sometimes or extra charges being added which is why I stupidly then used SEPA as the payment method most of the time. I actually wonder if this is a tactic by the unlicensed gambling companies where card payments are slower or rejected then people use bank transfers which as consumers offer virtually zero protection. You are right though, the banks are just as complicit in all of this.
